Literature Text

It's Lady Godiva; henna dip'd
With auburn curves, sweeping back
A flame 'cross resolute lips,
And a siren's throaty humming,
"Come buy, Come buy."

Is that a glitter of rings on fingers,
And bells on your toes?  Let us ride
The beast of Barbary on a cock-horse,
And rock the Honour of Greyskull into
Oblivion.

Laced-up with paganity, howling
Under starlit sheets; beauty
Is in the eyes of the holder.
Peach for me.  You shall have music
Wherever you go.

"Oh, Lizzie - did you miss me?"
I'd let the goblins ravish me
To a pulp; the velvet nap is
Juicily sweet.  Life's too bland
in black and white.
This started out as a poem for someone in particular and then took on a mind of its own. I'm not sure whether she'll appreciate that or not. Either way, hope it at least brings a smile.

A few literary references scattered here, with a lot of poetic licence. Hope it makes a hazy kind of sense.

it's like a kaliedescope; it's all color and strange light and childhood and
bedroom eyes. Love it.
