Literature Text

Sing a song of sixpence,
A parliament of sighs.
A fool, I sent my Kent away,
And all that's left are lies.

A pretty crown of posies
I'd placed upon my head;
But now all's done, we all fall down -
Cordelia is dead.

'Round the garden green, I go
- Like a marching hare.
Regan snatched away her love;
Goneril, her care.

And with my heart torn open
The crows begin to sing;
Anguish - such a bitter dish
To feed a dying king.
I've spent a damn long time on this, chopping and changing line starts, rearranging verse positions, and steadily hacking away at the ending. As it stands, I'm rather pleased with it. It's been difficult to get back into rhyme, so I'd love to know what you think.
