Literature Text

Captured on a window sill,
Trapped inside a frame;
Heavy rain comes pouring through a broken windowpane.
Locked within a gilded cage,
Shut behind the door;
Fading thoughts of fading times, on slowly fading walls.
Puddle forming on the floor, seeping round the glass -
Fallen from the mantelpiece – my face within the shards.
Broken bird on broken perch,
Rivers running red;
A crown of thorns by rose of glass -
Scars around my head.
Shattered ivory memories and a marble altar bed:
A proffered soul in the wooden bowl –
The heart has long since bled.
Lock the windows, lock the doors,
But leave the candle lit.
Let her have a light to pray.
If there's any use in it.
Because sometimes, things just fall down.

Wouldn't it be about an internal fight for the survival of the spirit? I have the feeling that the character takes the full consciousness of certain moments of its existence and that he wears them hard on his shoulders...

It is very well imagined and we really feel the pain inside "you"...

Nice job!
